Novena to Blessed Jordan of Saxony

Blessed Jordan of Saxony,
worthy successor of Saint Dominic,
in the early days of the Order,
your example and zeal prompted many men and women
to follow Christ in the white habit of Our Holy Father.
As patron of Dominican Vocations,
continue to stimulate talented and devoted men and women
to consecrate their lives to God.
Through your intercession,
lead to the Order of Preachers
generous and sacrificing persons,
willing to give themselves fervently to the apostolate of Truth.
Help them to prepare themselves to be worthy of the grace of a Dominican vocation. Inspire their hearts to become learned of God,
that with firm determination
they might inspire to be champions of the Faith and true lights of the World.

[Mention Your Intention Here] Say One Our Father.
Say One Hail Mary.
Say One Glory Be.
Blessed Jordan of Saxony, pray for us (thrice).

Prayer for the Intercession of Blessed Bonaventura Paredes

Oh Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who shows themselves admirable in your Saints and likes to be glorified in them! I give thanks for the extraordinary virtues with which you deigned to adorn the soul of the Most Reverend Fr. Bonaventura. I pray for your honor, that you honor him with graces and miracles, so we can soon venerate him on the altars.

I beg you to grant me through his intercession, the special grace that I ask of you, if it is for your greater glory and benefit to my soul. Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.

Prayer for the Glorification of Blessed Marie-Jean-Joseph Lataste, O.P.

Lord Jesus Christ, who said: "I did not come to call the just but sinners" (Matth. 9:13); O good Shepherd, who seeks the far-wandering sheep to bring them back to the fold; since you have placed in the heart of Your servant Marie-Jean-Joseph Lataste the merciful thought to open religious houses under the patronage of St. Mary Magdalen, in which any sinful woman, purified by the desire for repentance and by Your pardon, to aspire to be admitted into the ranks of virgin daughters of St. Dominic consecrated to Your service, and to end their days in religious life "just like the souls of those who had never faltered, reunited and conjoined to them as sisters in the midst of sisters"; We beg of you to glorify your servant, founder of the Work of Bethany, so that the innocent virgins who speed to these cloisters might be stirred up by these examples of charity, to show themselves tender and patient mothers, and that these houses might attract a great number of souls who have borne the yoke of sin, as a burning light which will show them the gate where they may taste the sweetness of penitence, and happy above all to love You, O Jesus, in the innocence reclaimed by tears, with the firm hope that Your grace they may preserver and be brought to the port of eternal salvation. Amen.

Prayer of Blessed Marie-Jean-Joseph Lataste to Our Lord

O my Jesus! How I love You! Give Yourself to me, and give me to You! Identify me with You; may my will be Yours! Incorporate me to Yourself, so that I may not live except in You and for You! May I spend for You all that I have received from You, without keeping anything for myself! May I win for You Souls! Souls, O my Jesus! Souls!

Prayer to Saint Thomas Aquinas (From the Breviary of the Order of Preachers, 1967)

O God, you make your Church glorious through the wonderful teaching of the blessed Thomas, your Confessor and Doctor, and render it fruitful by his holy deeds; grant us, we beseech you, both to understand what he taught and to imitate what he did. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to Our Holy Father Saint Dominic (From the Breviary of the Order of Preachers, 1967)

Prayer to Blessed Juana de Aza, Mother of Saint Dominic

O God, who didst wonderfully make known to Thy handmaid, Blessed Jane, the grace of the heavenly calling of her son, Dominic, we beseech Thee that, imitating her and her son thus foreshown to her, we may, by the loving intercession of them both, receive everlasting rewards.  Through Christ our Lord.

Prayer to Blessed Manes de Guzmán (From the Breviary of the Order of Preachers, 1967)

O God, by wondrous ways you led your blessed confessor, Mannes, into the path of perfection; by the same gracious mercy direct our actions, that we may be able to seek out what you command and obtain what you promise. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Novena to Saint Dominic

O Renowned Champion of the faith of Christ, most holy father, St. Dominic, look down from that throne of glory where thou enjoyest the reward of all thy labours upon me, thy poor unworthy child.

I praise and thank God for the exalted degree of sanctity to which he has raised thee, and the special privileges by which he has raised thee, and the special privileges by which he has distinguished thee; and I conjure thee by that gratitude with which thou shalt for all eternity be penetrated to thy divine Benefactor, to root out of my heart whatever is not agreeable in his sight, especially that evil habit by which I most frequently offend him. Obtain, likewise, the favours I request in this Novena.

O glorious Mother of God, Queen of the Sacred Rosary, who didst love Dominic with the affection of a mother, and wert most tenderly loved and honoured by him, vouchsafe to look upon me for his sake with an eye of pity: deign to join with him in presenting my petitions to thy most blessed Jesus whom I sincerely desire from this moment to love with all my heart, and to serve with all my strength.

Mother of my Redeemer, I place myself now under thy powerful protection, as a certain means of obtaining all necessary grace here, and eternal happiness hereafter. Amen.

Novena in Honour of All Saints of the Order of Saint Dominic

Anthem:
The Lord hath raised up the needy from the earth, and hath placed them among princes; making Dominic, in his heavenly home, a joyful father of children.

Let us pray.
O God, who hast vouchsafed to make the Order of Preachers fruitful in an abundant progeny of Saints, and hast gloriously crowned in them the merits of all heroic virtues; grant unto us to follow their footsteps, that we may at last be united in perpetual festivity with those in heaven, whom we venerate today under one celebration upon earth. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Beatification of Servant of God Mother Catherine (Abrikosova) of Siena

O God Almighty, Your Son suffered on the Cross and died for the salvation of people. Imitating Him, Your Servant mother Catherine (Abrikosova) loved You from the bottom of her heart, served You faithfully during the persecutions and devoted her life to the Church Make her famous in the assembly of Your blessed, so that the example of her faithfulness and love would shine before the whole world. Prayer to Saint Margaret of Hungary

O God, the lover and guardian of chastity, by whose gifts Thy handmaid Margaret united the beauty of virginity and the merit of good works, grant we pray, that through the spirit of salutary penance we may be able to recover integrity of soul. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Vincent Ferrer (From the Breviary of the Order of Preachers, 1967)

O God, through the wonderful preaching of your confessor, the blessed Vincent, you granted that a multitude of peoples should come to acknowledge your name; grant, we beseech you, that we may be worthy to be rewarded in heaven by him whom he announced on earth as the Judge who is to come, our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Thomas Aquinas for Purity

Chosen lily of innocence, pure St. Thomas,
who kept chaste the robe of baptism
and became an angel in the flesh after being girded by two angels,
I implore you to commend me to Jesus, the Spotless Lamb,
and to Mary, the Queen of Virgins.
Gentle protector of my purity, ask them that I,
who wear the holy sign of your victory over the flesh,
may also share your purity,
and after imitating you on earth
may at last come to be crowned with you among the angels. Amen.
